Historic Bell Casting, Kilbride, Clan MacDougall, Exploring Scotland's History This video shows a unique historical practice. Records show that bell casters often travelled to a kirk to cast a bell in situ. The full practice is documented here, including the history of the bell that we are replicating, from it's salvage, to it's current position in Dunollie Castle, with the MacDougall clan ensuring it's safekeeping.
